Wanting NIL and getting NIL are two different things.

If you're the 15th guy on roster, exactly what value is there in your name, image and likeness? What is your negotiating position of strength - that you have a good GPA? For that guy - who is effectively a walk-on now getting a scholarship - the scholarship and other perks are probably more than enough. If not, adios.
