Interesting when compared to football.

Syracuse hired an up and coming guy from Georgia that turned them around in year 1. Duke has hired very successful DCs from blue chip programs after hiring the guy that mentored both Manning brothers in college. Duke has become very adept at hiring solid football HC’s. And UNC hired a national champion coach from Texas (so what if he’s a retread?) and when that didn’t work out they hired the most successful NFL coach of all time. I’ll be interested to see the hires at Miami and UVA in hoops. Two recent Final Four caliber programs…who do they hire? ** Edited by hokieZ71 at 2/23/2025, 7:59:25 AM

I would argue that NIL is what caused the coaching situation in the ACC.
