to rationalize poor coaching and poor athletic administration. This is not the first year our current coach has underachieved at VT and it probably won't be the last. To suggest that no other coach could do better is certifiably insane. We heard the same crap the last time VT let go of a mediocre coach (SG). VT was not a destination school, VT was a football school, no coach would want to come to VT, no coach could win at VT, Cassell is old, Blacksburg is hard to recruit to, blah blah blah. We hired a proven winner and came within a layup of the Elite 8. That guy left, and we replaced him with a coach with a very well defined career ceiling... very similar to SG.
