If you get to the D1 HC level...

It isnt about collecting paychecks. They are all more than fine (unless you have a gambling addiction, I guess). It is all a matter of when the negatives/stress of the job begin outweighing the positives. There's a reason why a good number of cheating coaches retired once everyone was allowed to give benefits deemed "improper" before. They no longer have an advantage that no one else does. That most certainly is not Tony Bennett. But Coach K, Boeheim, Saban, etc. got out when it became too difficult to compete on a more even playing field, even with the inherent advantages of their position. They got too old to want to adapt. Mike Young could retire tomorrow, but it isn't going to be about money...
