UConn would have gotten the invite over BC. Something to keep in mind is that UConn's on campus football stadium (Memorial Stadium) only had a capacity of 16,200. If UConn wanted to be on the ACC's radar, then it would have needed to at least double, maybe even triple, the capacity which was probably not possible given the location of the facility on campus. The location of Gampel Pavilion prevents UConn from increasing the size of the bleachers on that side of the field. While the location of Alumni Drive prevents UConn from adding bleachers in the one end zone. Finally the location of the practice field likely prevents UConn from increasing the size of the bleachers on the other side of the field. It is possible UConn could have added small bleachers in the end zone closest to the Athletic Facilities Building and the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. However, it wouldn't be enough to make it larger than the capacity of BC's football stadium. I get why UConn opted to have a brand new football stadium built even though the current location isn't ideal.
