I've never taken seriously what anyone has said in public about NIL figures

Every single person in the process has a motive to lie about it Players should lie to increase their perceived market value Coaches should lie to both "show" what their players are getting for recruiting purposes plus "show" how out of control it is for the players they don't get Collectives should lie to "show" they have more money in the coffers than what they really have...ditto for boosters There's also a huge difference between: Player X is getting $100k in NIL dollars And Player X is getting $100k specifically from School A's collective Kansas doesn't get to claim Hunter Dickenson's national deals that he would get at any school. Arby's had a promotion to give NIL deals to RBs (get it?)...do those schools get to count that as money they've given out? Of course not Is Lynn Kidd likely getting a significant NIL deal, more than what VT could produce? Probably, even very likely. Is it likely it's close to what has been thrown around? No But the perception matters. There's not a single person I would trust with a specific number on any NIL deal, and that includes Lynn Kidd himself. Everyone has incentive to lie
