There is no question......

the quality of basketball play in the ACC has declined relative to its history. The decline can be seen in players and coaches. It is also likely the play in other conferences has not declined as much as the ACC, in effect closing the gap among the conferences. Not having a #1 seed in the last half a decade MAY mean something but, it is far less troubling than had they not won a national championship in the last five years or two decades like at least one conference considered perennially as a top performer.
