To be fair... (not that we should be)

The way Weaver fired Greenberg he wasnt going to attract any high level coaches in the time frame to keep the job moving. His options were to find a lower level coach who was itching to leave or hire an assistant who you have no idea what their track record will be. He went the way of the assistant and it was because he at least had a relationship with the assistant. It also helped that what he was looking for was a coach who would bend the knee after Greenberg. Johnson should've held firm on many decisions about the program but the manner in which he took the job he felt like he had to be a good soldier. Anyway...not to excuse the hire as much as to say the fire was worse than the hire. I dont blame Johnson for all of what happened in his tenure, but he certainly wasnt the person suited for that level of a job. Very happy he is getting to be a HC again, he definitely knows how to identify, recruit and develop talent
