I know my fellow oldsters dont like me saying but Moir is being overrated

I was around for his years and we had a nice program. But it was largely built on winning against inferior competition, with a lot of home games. Before the Metro the schedule was awful- not VT's fault as the ACC teams generally wanted nothing to do with VT. It picked up a tad with the Metro but still. But more then the schedule being overly favorable, his teams just did not perform/execute well in close games. I always sorta got the feeling some of the more important players were tuning him out. Always bad turnovers , poor shots turning 50/50 games into loses. For the time and the period he coached and with VT resources, he was certainly acceptable, but the program was never going to explode .

Moir was good but after 1981, VT was still a team that would lose games

There isn't much remaining online that discuss Greenberg's departure for VT
