Will not happen that way, but just to illustrate the point Returning: PG - Hammond/Pasha/Freeman Wing - Schutt/Johnson/Pasha (will play both) 4 - Hansberry/Jones 5 - Gurdak/Dorn/Davis You're already at 10 players where, at most, youre playing 8. With the players coming back, it doesnt make a ton of sense to recruit higher rated players because you only have open spots: 1) starting wing - push either Johnson or Schutt into a rotation with 3 players 2) reserves/situational- dont have room at PG, dont have room at C maybe a 4th wing or a 3rd 4?? BUT Let's say the more likely thing happens and someone leaves (or someone is asked to leave). I dont think I see too many spots where Id want to fill with a HS kid. Maybe the 3rd center if Davis left? Maybe 3rd PG if Freeman left? You dont need to rush to make those decisions because you dont know what your roster will look like yet. In terms of where they should dole out money to keep players next season it should go: 1) Hansberry 2) Hammond 3) Gurdak 4) Johnson 5) Schutt I am ok with anyone else walking or being shown the door. And if those are your 5, then you need to build the rotation with veterans first and then fill out the roster with HS players or any of the redshirts you want back
