Tis the world now. Why bother? Unless your Duke, Kentucky and maybe a half dozen others you are better off being old and gray and experienced. I suppose most of the HS players outside the top 75-100 now will start out at mid majors and based on merit progress to the P5 schools. CMY is definitely going to need to bulk up again on NIL to keep those existing players in the fold. Hoops needs a better solution- multi-year commitments or something, but this is where we are now.
A bit off topic but I think one thing the NCAA may have to eventually come to grips with with unlimited international scholarships- particularly the older ones eating into D1 spots for Americans. I could see a push for limits , quotas coming somewhere down the line.
