Could Basile have chosen to stay for some NIL money?
Sure. But if VT were willing to pay that kind of money to influence someone to stay/come to VT it could be spent more efficiently elsewhere. Kidd and Poteat have been more than fine. Basile was never going to play the 4 and if he had, it would look a lot worse than the last 2 games.
Literally not one other player has been influenced by NIL to leave
