I hear similar reasoning when there's talk about letting Nike just go nuts

with the football jerseys. "It's for the recruits." At some point, don't you have to look at the results and say it might not be worth it? If it takes being degraded by Nike to beat out Valdosta State for a two star recruit, does that make sense? I realize everyone has a different place they'd put that dial, but I'd rather win one game and have a little bit of dignity doing it than winning three and having none.
