That everyone who says "welp, NIT here we come" is the same reason that question cant be answered...
There's almost half of a season left to be played. If VT wins out and SMU loses out then its a really bad loss for VT. If they both win out then it isnt a bad loss and it doesnt matter a ton
There's so much context missing that there isnt a good way to answer that
