Don't think it has anything to do with NIL.Professional soccer is facing a

major gambling problem, many players being banned and even some famous players in Brazil got investigated. It has to do with ease of access to online bets where you can bet on any obscure bet. A Brazilian national team member got investigated for potentially getting yellow cards on purpose to benefit family members who bet on him getting a yellow card in the first 15 minutes of an English Premier League match
