Bottom line is even if we could buy top talent we wouldn’t see the ROI because of our coaching philosophy. If we had $3M to spend last year, we wouldn’t have gone after more than 1-2 transfers, we would’ve just kept our guys. That’s because the system we play is designed to make bad talent look good, it’s not designed to make good talent look great. If we had UNCs roster we would’ve still lost to PSU and Michigan because we would be playing at a pace slower than paint dries. No great individual player wants to play our style of basketball, no dynamic athlete wants to sit for 2 years learning how to set and reject off ball screens, no dominant big wants to set pin downs at the nail repeatedly. Either we need to double down and stop recruiting top talent and instead recruit guys like Cattoor who will stick around, or we have to move on from MY
