Their biggest mistake FOR THEM, was when the Big East split and the football schools left. They are a basketball school from the Northeast and they lost all their ties and the program suffered. They realized that, and quit the american and Big East welcomed them back. they really didnt need too. UCONN Basketball is hot and back to the days of old. They enjoy traveling to the garden and other venues. Football well, maybe it was a stretch. They would be interested in football only conference that does nothing to affect their relationship with the Big East. They will not pull UCONN basketball away from the big east.
