Football is currently driving the bus in terms defining the value of a
conference's media contract. Unfortunately, UConn football adds no value to the ACC which would essentially make UConn just another mouth to feed and reduces how much money each ACC would get each year. Remember UConn decided to demolish its on campus football stadium so a multi-million dollar basketball practice facility could be built in its place. The state built the new football stadium in East Hartford, CT which is approximately 25 miles away from the UConn campus in Storrs, CT. On top of that the football stadium only has a capacity of 40K, but the capacity could be expanded to either 50K or 60K under the right circumstances. I seriously doubt interest in UConn football will ever get to the point where the state could justify expanding Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field to 50K or 60K. Any future expansion of the stadium will likely need to be triggered by another factor (i.e. NFL team relocating to CT).

With UConn, the ACC would have 9 of last 14 champs (currently have 6 of 14)**

The ACC should consider it. Go against the grain.
