Love him but I do think his best fit would have been pre-portal era when

players were more likely to develop and stay for a career. Every few years we'd have a really good team with a nucleus that would have been playing with each other for a few years and been a very dangerous team in tournament type play. I don't presume he and the current staff are built as well to re-recruit over half the roster each and every year nor is his playing system, for lack of a better term, optimized with less and less time in the system. ** Edited by BG Hokie at 4/4/2024, 3:14:54 PM
