That's what happened. It's like taking SAT prep courses that teach you to do better on the test. In an ideal world, the SAT test measures your intelligence, and the aptitude and knowledge that you have gained in your educational career, while the NET would measure your talent and the quality of play you have shown.
But if there's something you can do to get a better score, that isn't illegal... you're a fool if you don't do it.
