Unless they start playing Rechsteiner again, but he seemed like he was nowhere near ready in ACC play. Only other option is Collins, but in an ideal world he'd only be playing 15 minutes a game. Instead, he's starting. So if you rest Pedulla more, and you don't play Rechsteiner, you just get Collins on the floor playing even more minutes than he should be playing right now. It sucks for Pedulla, but IIWII. I've been saying the same thing for a couple of months now...Virginia Tech's main issue (guard depth) can't be fixed until the offseason. Rice leaving WHEN he left crippled this team's chances from the very beginning, in hindsight. Tech lost a starter who would have averaged in double figures, and could play all three backcourt positions. Which means Collins is over 26 minutes per game instead of 15. His last four games he's averaging 33.5 minutes, but he's not a starting caliber player at this point in his career. And of course, Pedulla is playing probably six minutes more than he should be. So not only did Tech lose Rice, but it was a trickledown effect. Women's hoops took a big chunk of the basketball NIL budget this year after last season's Final 4 run, but with Kitley leaving I would think a little bit more will be opened up for the men's side next year.
