I probably missed it, so apologies, but what's up with Clement? Was
waiting until we got through a full weekend and a non-con to ask. Assume he's still working his way back. Do we expect him to get innings this year?

I know Grady has a broken wrist that will keep him out roughly a month, according to Szefc. Dylan Tefft asked him about it this past weekend when I saw a splint on Clay's hand.
Clement is coming off an injury. Not sure what his timeline is, but I think he should be back at some point this season.
Exum I believe may be coming off an injury as well. Again no idea of his timeline.
Jordan appears to be injured. Hasn't been warming up before games with the other position players, much like Clay.

Baseball only has 34 man rosters now, although we have 35 listed. Not sure what the exact number is to be honest. But this roster is obviously built with more flexibility in terms of positions each player can play. I think they did a good job to where most positions have at least 2 reliable players that can field well and hit. The pitchers will be asked to throw more innings out of the pen as well. You typically only have 2 guys who are long relief guys, but I think it'll be more like 3-4 this season.
Injuries are tough to prevent in a sport with this frequency of games. They're gonna happen and the team has to adapt. Hopefully the main guys can stay healthy. We've made it through 4 games without major injuries (yet). I think of the 4 players noted, the expectation is they should be playing at some point this season. Kentucky already lost their star SS who was slated to be a first round pick and potential Golden Spikes award winner. I think we're in a decent spot thus far.

to carry guys on the roster who are not ready to play. Guys 32-40 historically don't play at all, just developing. So now with 34, freshmen need to be more ready to contribute, so we may see fewer of them.

goes from good to better when/if Clement and Exum get added in.

His role has reduced every year. From 1.8innings per app in 2023, to 1.3 in 2024, to .85 last yr. That's minimal depth.

Not sure of his timeline, but I don't expect him back in the next few weeks. He should be back this season at some point while slowly working back and increasing work load. I haven't heard about him throwing just yet.

we typically have around 12-15 ish outs to cover out of the Pen on any given weekend night. Getting them into that equation would be great.

pitched in the fall a little, but maybe not. Big blow to this team if he can't go this season, but given last year's injury and being out now, it doesn't look promising.

I believe he's due back and should be pitching this year in some form. He will be plenty motivated given it's a draft year too.
