It doesn't seem sustainable, but I know that this can go on far longer than I could anticipate. I'm ok with someone wanting to spend all that money, just not at the expense of the students. Students don't go to school to pay to watch sports, or at least I don't think they should have to.

How about we don't give the next coach a guaranteed contract with a buyout? Even if they are great and leave, good for the next coach, and we move on.

Interesting that Michigan as a whole has taken this stance. Had they just admitted wrong doing, this thing would have blown over, heck they might have even been able to make fun of it, admit a mistake and move on pain free. Instead they dug their heals in. I'm not advocating any penalty for Michigan, others can decide that, but... If I cheat consistently in school, what would happen. If a coach loses, they get fired, they cheat as long as they win, no problem. Why not fire the coach, and/or forfeit games they cheated in...a three game suspension seems pretty measured in light of that. I get the players don't deserve it. They, Michigan, the system, digging its heals in makes for an uncertain outcome.

My guess it happens before the end of the decade and it will be someone unexpected. When the money no longer justifies the investment, or school loses interest for any number of reasons. Will others follow?

Curious if anyone knows if there is any visibility or accountability (lol) to NIL? Are there any limits to what gets done. Who really is funding it? Where does the money come from? Yep, kind feel the same way, fun to watch what is happening, but in the scheme of things, not that important. If I had to choose between being like Vanderbilt in the SEC in football or being a powerhouse in the non-P2, i think I pick the latter, might be a whole lot more fun to watch.

Not convinced that chasing dollars is the end all the P2 make it out to be? At some point, how much money do you need? Is money really what is holding back our success in any sport? Is it really helping any school that isn't a well known entity already? Plenty of schools do well in certain sports without being in P2, UConn/Louisville in Basketball, UCF in football, etc. I really wonder about all the un-intended consequences, and all the unforeseen ones of the P2. USC/UCLA may well be hurting themselves in the long run. Nothing about this is for the 97% of kids playing Olympic sports, how will they react to having to travel insane distances to play, will they want to in the long run? If it doesn't have integrity, then it is not sustainable, and I don't see a lot of integrity in what is happening. If the majority are disenfranchised, how is it sustainable? If Tech stops playing sports tomorrow, I pretty much stop watching all college sports. If I was Whit, I would think long and hard before doing anything hasty. Maybe staying put, regardless of what happens with the ACC is still the best move.
