Yep, people enjoy saying we don’t have the money when they can’t tell you

Having a student at VT, I am good with $100 increase per year. Maybe I am
different than some families. I graduated from VT and have a vested interest in the success of all things VT. Some may not feel the same. With the crazy increase in tuition in general, this is relatively small.

My youngest is a VT freshman. Just looked, Athletic Fee, Fall = $366
So, yes, your numbers are correct.

I have a kid at VT and the students do care about the team. I was surprised
That they showed up at all. Looked like their numbers matched the rest. Sometimes they will move to other areas when the sun is too warm and attendance is low.

Here is my concern with the recent coverage - very little info around the
planning and how VT is going to modernize the administrative side of things and most importantly, significantly increase revenue.
The coverage I am seeing so far only discusses our struggles and the limited resources. Hope once a plan is approved in the coming weeks, there is a concerted effort to demonstrate that VT is putting the necessary resources together to be a competitive P4 program

No, with contract expiration approaching, this is a decision year. Either
extension or fired. He is a dead man walking from a recruiting perspective now. Whit will be lucky to survive this. I have not seen or heard of more fan anger than what we are seeing. Son is a student at VT and says the same. The good will is gone. No one gives a crap if he is a good guy and fits our culture. We are damaging the brand and future by having him on the sidelines. Action is required to right this mess.

Everyone seems to know what the NIL pool is for various programs, yet
no one can provide the budget details. We assume Louisville upgraded their NIL for basketball. Top 10? What was the budget for those top 10?

Not so sure about VT getting left behind. If private equity takes over
then VT could thrive. Still big enough name to be attractive. Will universities sell the rights of ownership? many questions yet to be answered. Don't give up yet.

You want to watch d2 football? I don’t. A stadium that holds 65k
with only 15k average attendance. Never a mention on sports shows. 100% irrelevant. Primary support from just family and friends. VT sports that support the community not to mention our academic standing. This would be an earthquake event for followers alumni and non alike.

Some type of announcement is needed. Fan interest and ticket sales depend
on it. Otherwise, hope/interest quickly diminishing. If no firings, better show some effort of fixing this.

A lot of fans will still show up? No, they will not. I graduated in the
early 90s. In Beamer's bad years. 25% capacity frequently and could just walk through the gates any time with no lines. Fans will stop showing up for sub .500 teams.
We can work our way back to a P2 power team with the right leadership at the top. Don't quit on the potential of VT. With a dynamic AD and powerful organization targeting fundraising, VT can excel.

I know you are talking about NIL, but my daughter has athletic and academic
money and i do have to pay taxes for the scholarship money that goes to room and board and living expenses. Are you sure that NIL is completely tax exempt

Pete = baseball, swing as hard as you can. No small ball, no consistent
Gap hitters. Prefers long ball hitters to those that put the ball in the dirt. Hard for me personally to watch his teams. Love my school.

i know you are just kidding, but interesting that the universities control
the portal. once a player has communicated their desire to enter the portal, university admin have 48 hours to make it happen.
daughter plays d1 softball. And yes, there is cheating with schools using back channels to communicate prior to hitting portal.

Every steal attempt my daughter has made has been challenged this year. In
every case, she has asked the first base ump if her timing is ok. The first base ump never has had a problem with her leaving early. She has been called once for early and it was MUCH closer than Pete's review where the runner was clearly off the bag.

Agree, Cinci is crap. 1 fantastic year. I live in Cinci and not impressed
with fan base, facilities, academics. Weak campus environment. large % of students live away from the school and or with parents. would take West Virginia over UC..
