The group of 5 is included right now to avoid that lawsuit, not out of some altruistic goal to include more schools.
As soon as they can figure out how to not get sued, this “inclusivity” is gone.
The cynic in me believes that all this whining is on purpose. Perhaps just to sway public opinion to their side, but I think it’s all part of the plan of figuring out how to close this playoff off even more.

A large conference is such a disaster. Which many people predicted
The playoff actually works better with small conferences where you play everyone and determine a regular season champ.
You know like the other divisions have been doing for decades.
I just find it so hilarious that the sport destroyed its small regional conferences and now it turns out that would actually serve the sport best from a competitive standpoint.
But nothing at this level of college football is done for competitiveness. All $$$

At this point it’s probably better to wait a year, save some buyout.

Can we please ease into a season for once?
It feels like we’ve been opening with major games since like 2004 and it hasn’t always gone very well for us.
If there is any year to ease in, it’s the one where we are starting a complete transformation.

Penn State fired him on a knee jerk.
They were literally in the CFP semis last year.
It was a stupid decision to fire him, but I think they thought they would steal Cignetti. Now that appears like it won’t happen and I’m guessing there is some “oh crap” at PSU right now.

I just realized they have an off week before our game. How was that allowed
Paper thin schedule that they’ve squeaked through. Crafted their schedule to get a bye week before the rivalry game. Not even counting the fact they could be in the running for the title game, it would be so satisfying to see our rag tag group guys beat them this year.

Kirk has always liked us. I think it clouds his vision a bit.
I’ve noticed he struggles to be impartial about VT. I certainly appreciate the support in a major media member, and I also hope he’s right. But I think he’s speaking from a slightly biased viewpoint.

Thanks to the military I lived in Alabama for 4 years during peak Saban
It was shocking to me how much the self worth of grown men in that state was tied up in the success or demise of a college football team made up of kids.
I didn’t know anyone that was a big donor, but if that personality exists at a lower level of fan, it almost certainly exists with the ultra rich donor class too.
