I don't share many Pete stories these days, but
I will say that we had an actual one on one discussion about how he wished they would let softball take the team to a hotel in the area when VT had big home games. Sort of like what football does before any home game. It takes away the outside distractions and gives you a controlled environment. Which is how a road trip works and may be why they have more success away from Blacksburg.

Are the football national championship game squad, the women's final 4 basketball team a couple years ago, and probably the Angela Tincher softball squad that went to OKC.

Cassidy Curd was launching rise balls to the backstop.
Looked like a kid playing travel ball learning a new pitch. I will say, the strike zones were almost nonexistent in Clearwater. Not hard to hit when it has to be down the pipe to be a strike....well unless you are related to me....

Did you watch my kid sit the bench for Mizzou? Which leads me to a post
On the Mizzou Tiger board. Many are not happy with the results of the program recently under the HC. One person said they should open up the checkbook for Pete. I only read threads on that board, but I kind of chuckled. I really don't see him bolting VT for Mizzou if the job became available. But that's my humble opinion. Although they did sell out season tickets for the 5th straight year....đđ

Sometimes things come full circle...
I got to watch Lyndsey Grein throw an almost perfect game last weekend down in Clearwater. My kid, Emma Jackson broke it up with a walk. The best part wasn't the fact I got to see Lyndsey pitch in person one more time, it was the fact I had the opportunity to spend time with her parents again. Emma will get to see her recruiting classmate, Teagan Thrunk one more time tomorrow and may get to run into another one of her VT recruiting classmates in Payton List if they cross paths. I saw video of Trinity Martin hitting her first home run for Grand Canyon University this weekend as well. The last woman standing from that class is the very talented Kylie Aldridge, and I am rooting for her every single time she steps on the field.

Will never win much. It happens over and over to the point of insanity. I still say a coaching move needs to made for men's basketball. CMY is not the guy. And all of this hype of Neo? If he was so great, a real basketball school would have him on their roster.

Should be challenged as a Title 9 violation
But now you have softball players that attended JUCO for 2 years being allowed to play extra years thanks to Diego Pava's victory in court. There is no common sense or fairness in how redshirt rules play out. Now football wants to allow players up to 9 games of play and still get a redshirt year.

I liked Gabby.
She managed to work her way into the lineup as the starting DP. Even with all the players ECU graduated and the ones transferring out, I don't know if she will get much time at a defensive position next year. That doesn't even factor in whoever they bring in out of the portal. Although pitcher and catcher are a priority. ECU currently has 1 pitcher and no catchers on the roster.

There is a non disclosure clause in her NIL contract
But she won't have to worry about anything but playing softball and academics this next year. Just getting back to a school that feeds their athletes during the week is going to save her a ton on groceries this year. No food for softball players at ECU. Her grocery bills trying to eat healthy were outrageous.

He actually reached out and called my Emma this past week to check in on her 2 years after she moved on. From all accounts they had a nice chat. He is a great asset to the VT athletic department.

She is in the portal.
Her phone hasn't stopped since Sunday. Its a feeding frenzy out there. She had to cut down on some right away. Those were 2 of about 8 she told to move on. One school already had a visit scheduled for Sat/Sun and pulled it because they heard the schools that were making her offers.
