Had famous steam tunnel moles at WUVT
Looking for the cable cutting culprit that was cutting the transmission line from Squires to Lee Hall circa 1981-82 ish. The FM signal at that time traveled to the transmitter and antenna atop Lee Hall via the steam tunnels. We had a crew of volunteers stationed to catch the persons. Eventually the cuttings stopped.

Totally Brutal schedule esp. the travel.
Is the ACC trying to bury us? I'm out on left coast so I will go to Cal and SMU but man what is Phillips and ACC office thinking here. Away at Boston Berkeley Miami and Dallas that's a lot to ask of VT faithful.

Was lucky to talk to George few weeks ago
His band Not Shakespeare opened for many of the WUVT sponsored shows I booked many of them and George was all class and pro. Famously when REM was a no show at after sundown they played for over 2 hours. REM eventually made up the show and played for 2$ right when Murmur album came out and George was just the best humblest dude. All love for George Wade his family friends and Band mates.He did a lot for the Blacksburg 80s arts and music scene. His spirit carries on!

No chance he doesn't want to hang in Frank's shadow
And his record is SEC fueled recruiting and still just OK by SEC standards. If VT and Roco/Sands are serious about moving to top level they will shoot higher and have more university $$$ to accomplish this. I don't see VT brand shrinking but expanding with a big reorganizing and a big hire.

Just saying I worked with Q-Prime in 90s and Peter and Cliff Metallicas
Management founders and they are experts on listening to the bands needs and monetizing the bands long and short term goals. Lars has always been able to spell out the Metallica team markers. Impressive behind the scenes as they are on stage . That's one hell of a production they put on the road.
