Danville was the Atlanta Braves rookie team from 1993 until 2020. Then MLB made the change.

Carrington Aaron
Saw Carrington play last night for the Danville Otterbots of the Appalachanian League. He went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI.
He is currently hitting .317. He also had 2 stolen bases. A very good night.

Saw hin play...
Saw Jerry West play against Tech in the Southern Conf. Tournament in 1959-60 or 1960-61. W. Va. one but J. West fouled out with 10 mins. to go and Tech. ahead. Someone came off the bench and smoked us.

Saw Carrington Aaron playing for Danville Ottorbots last night. He was the lead-off batter who went 1 for 2 with a double, BB and a stolen base. Made a couple outstanding plays at second base. Very good start for the season in the Appalachian League. Also, had a RBI.

Flyover
The two Navy pilots in the flyover of the bowl game are alumni of Tech and Tulane. The Tulane graduate is the Commanding Officer of the squadron and the Tech grad is the Exective Officer. They have a bottle of rye bet on the game.

cancer sucks!!!!
I lost my first wife to cancer in 1998. I re-married in 2002 and the lady I married had lost her husband in 1993 to cancer. Cancer really sucks!

I don't worryt about about all this wailing and gnashing of teeth about realignment. I remember losing to VMI and Davidson (do they still have a FB team?) Kich it off and let the fumbles fall wherte they may.

Aaron is a 2023 commit to VT. He was an All-Star selection by the Appy League A .278 hitter with an OPS of .698

Hokie commits Aaron Carrington and Preston Crowl had their opening game for the Danville Otterbots on Tues. night. Carrington did not get in the game but Crowl started at 3rd base. He played a solid 3rd and went one for three with the bat with one RBI.

I have a LP album that was put out by Tech on the season and the NIT. I get it out time to time and still get excited. I beleive we won four games by a total of six or seven points. SI said Tech could not win because they were "too small, to native(the starting five were from Va.), and they were too white." Go figure.

A question...
I have a question. From what I know about this coaching staff is that most of them(head man, oc, dc, etc.) have been successful at other schools.
So why can't they be successful at VT? I believe the variable is the talent in the player pool. With out the talent you can't be successful. Things won't get better until we get better players.
