I think its more likely that Superconferences have already jumped the shark

The next realignment will be to split them into two more geographically sensible leagues with a scheduling agreement

Hope not. I like John in many ways, but...

He would probably make the decision based on whose politics he favored the most

I see, redshirt JR actually. Seems like he has been around forever

Since he played so early at Ok ST ** Edited by VictoryTurkey at 9/17/2025, 11:35:37 AM

I thought he had a bright future. Was sorry to see him go.

Will we have enough players to field a team if we have a few injuries next season?

Looks like 8th out of 17 in 2024, despite the disappointing season.

You can see why the urban schools are in the league, despite their poor in-person attendance.

DC Lance Guidry fired by the Miami Hurricanes

He was a stellar DC at SE Louisiana, McNeese State, Western Ky, and Marshall before joining the Canes. Even this year Miami ranked 40th in yards given up per game. I see him as a viable candidate for the Hokies if the position is not already filled.

He is Ibrahim's son (see link)

But VT does not really appear to be in the conversation right now ** Edited by VictoryTurkey at 12/31/2024, 1:06:39 PM

We are not taking good shots with "room and rhythm"

As Seth used to say. We have one of the best offensive coaches around. We have 5 guys capable of really good shooting nights rotating at the three guard positions. When we are getting open shots because they understand the offense, this years team will shoot better than last years.

FSU barely beat Rice and Northern Kentucky

It happens with young teams early in the season. Coach Young was pleased with the game over game defensive improvements, and that is what they focused on. I will go with his assessment. He thinks we are improving.

We have the same record we had last year but were in every game but one

Last year we were losing to ****ty teams like Purdue and Marshall, and getting our doors blown off by FSU, Louisville, and Rutgers. This team has been much better than last year to this point in the season, even if it doesn't show in the record so far. The schedule has been tougher by far. We could be favored in the next three, and if VT finishes strong, they will have a better record against a tougher schedule. Perhaps preseason expectations were too high for a program that hit rock bottom three seasons back.

Steinspring's offenses always got better when Beamer made him simplify

and cut out some of the unnecessary motion and whatnot. Unfortunately, it was always at midseason after a couple losses.

I don't think they are an upgrade

If Mines left, then I would take Dugans as a WR coach, but I similarly do not think he is an upgrade to Fontel Mines.

You need to look where the ball was when Tuten got the previous 1st down

And then watch the chain gang guy move the orange marker back 1 yard after the next play

The chain gang moved the marker back a yard for some reason

That set of 4 downs started on the 44 and ended on the 35 I just watched the replay. We only gained 9 yards on that series of plays. If you watch in the background three plays prior to the tush push, you will see the guy move the orange marker back a yard.
