...to get better. With just an average offense, Pry has a winning record Year 1. The roster is completely different, which seems to be a constant quote from a few coaches and players. The team looks different, and I bet it has a lot to do with the talent brought in on offense. Again, it's about getting better each year, and I'm only hoping there's more emphasis on making that side of the ball even better.,

Also, Fuente's philsophy was to build on top of what Beamer built. He waited until Year 3 to gut the roster and start his guys. That's when the losses started to pour in. That's when guys in the program were on the way out and it happened more and more years later, and Foster left. Not enough guys wanted to play or work with him over the years. vs. Pry... Pry is starting with very little talent to start. I wish he started with Beamer's guys, instead, he has a bare roster after so many talented guys jumped ship years and years before. Pry made a decision to start from scratch by creating a core, a plan to build a roster out of VA, and go with the long-term plan that doesn't focus on wins and losses. But instead, getting better each year while developing HIS roster with HIS guys. At VT, early to mid 2000s, majority of the guys followed other guys. Also helps when the program was big-time and owned the state, but yes... 110% guys followed one another. Then it stopped around 2010-ish when the elite programs came in state.

We see it in the basketball and baseballs programs already. Hoping this offseason they're creating similar unis as the men's basketball team for the football program.

That's the leg work PSU put in to infiltrate Virginia the way they have. Which is why Pry said there's no excuse for out of state programs to know more about VA players than VT. He also added that he's going to not only learn about the 8th/9th graders, but also know the coaching staff, the restaurant owners, mom/pop shops, etc. all around VA. Based on Twitter interactions and from what I've heard, Pry and his staff are well received across the state. It's refreshing to see. Pry and his staff have done a lot of work on the recruiting trail in Virginia so that VT will have a leg up on the 2024 and 2025 classes.

That’s how long Pry has been a Hokie, and you expect the entire state to flip to VT suddenly? So VT has to catch up and is behind right now and will be for a year or two.

Pry also mentioned in multiple interviews how it starts at the younger ages, not 16-17-year-olds. You have to meet their coaches, HS staff, handlers, and VT alums in those schools and get to know kids at around 14 when they’re about to enter HS sports.
