Is Castine hurt? ** Edited by Slider!22 at 2/21/2025, 3:35:08 PM

It’s a big problem

When you can’t even get the ball inbounds…… When you can’t guard the other teams point guard When you can’t control the action on offense We don’t have a true lead guard……not a knock on Wenzel. She’s competing, sometimes trying to do too much on offense. She’s a wing, not a lead guard.

Too much time off, I guess

Not a good effort tonight. Desperately need an experienced PG from the portal.

3-6 players won’t be here next year…..

Gotta win so you can get better players out of the portal. I hate it, but developing a team is a thing of the past.

Wonder what CMY is gonna do

With those two timeouts he just took home….. Geez, call TO and set up SOMETHING!!

Same in HS ball

Way too much contact all over the court at youth and HS levels. Doesn’t even resemble the basketball I grew up watching!!

Barring huge rule changes

SEC will dominate in ALL sports. They will fully fund all sports, and most others will be left behind. In the ACC, Clemson, UNC, and maybe FSU will probably fully fund all sports.

Duke knows our offense better than we do.

Stifle VT offense by pressuring the ball and denying wing passes. CMY needs some new wrinkles!

Very true……

We ran the ball down the throats of most ACC teams for years.

When will TV folks start talking about NIL?

Not really BB related, but will the networks ever address disparities that obviously exist in college sports these days?

Hard to watch……

Hard to see any measure of success in the ACC for this group, this year, next year, or anytime soon.

Concerned

That Coach Pete will tire of doing more with less….

Disagree

How bout a two man game with Schmitt and Lawal on one side? They’re switching everything so that little weave action that CMY loves will not produce open shots. Gotta create some one on one opportunities instead of just running the same motions all the time. And don’t even get me started about mixing in some zone principles on defense occasionally!!

Two crucial possessions-no good shots

And that was the game……..CMY needs to do something different.

Based on those numbers

I think Pry already remarked about football going to 95 or so. That only leaves 30-35 for all others excluding basketball. Softball will be lucky to get 2-3 in that scenario. VT softball will be highly disadvantaged if other schools follow Clemson’s model. Full ride vs. 40% or less? Hard to recruit against those odds…..and hard to retain a top level coach!! ** Edited by Slider!22 at 12/7/2024, 12:06:24 PM

Yes

Va Tech baseball did a similar thing a few years back, but I think it was headed up by the low man on the coaching totem pole or maybe director of ops. I think it fizzled out, probably because of the turnover in that position. Or maybe because of fan apathy for a program that is spinning it’s wheels in place.

Same old song

QB starts to run, we don’t blitz because the QB will run, receivers running wide open downfield…… Jeez, this where Bud was so good, dialing up some different pressure.

You can adjust to what he can do…….

I can’t believe anyone is defending this coaching staff at this point!!

Here we go with our great adjustments

On offense and defense!!!! We are so inept coming out of halftime!!

Did we even practice for two weeks?

So sick of this ultra cautious offense. This ain’t the national championship game. Throw the ball down the field, and see if those 3 high-priced wideouts can make a play….

Where is the offense we ran last year?

RPO, rollouts, option, etc? Are we trying to make Drones a dropback passer so he can be an NFL prospect? I don’t get it!

crazy

How do you develop your young players, especially pitchers, when you turn over half the roster each year?
