Doesn't matter. Last time I was there 50+ years ago it was Ocracoke.

No hotels on the island at the time I don't think. Just 3 big houses. Owned by a Mr. Jones... I think!

Been 50 years since I visited the Outer Banks. Need recommendations.

I'll be driving back from Richmond to Savannah, second week in October. Wifey and I want to take three or four days, weather permitting... and visit the Outer Banks. Looking for a place to stay on the beach, with kitchenette. We don't need luxury, just cleanliness and great location. TIA!

2 days will be easy. Uffizi, Cathedral Santa Maria, eat a

bistecca alla Fiorentina somewhere. Go to Piazza Duomo. Any nice street cafe for a pastry and cappuccino!

Check out Toyota Avalon. Mine is 2007 still running at 300,000 miles.

Best driving car and comfort car I've ever owned. And I've had Accords and Acuras. Don't know if that will still hold true in 2023, but take a look.

Not 100% sure. 3 different vets said same thing...

1/2 Minnie Red Aussie, 1/2 Dachshund. Probably some other stuff. Mutts make the best dogs!

RIP Maggie. Best. Damn. Dog. Ever.

She loved riding tractors, golf carts, and boats. She swam with dolphins, chased monkeys in Africa, and tried to crack turtles between her paws with her teeth. She loved marshes, briar patches, and open plains. She was adorable and fearless. She liked some dogs but loved every person she ever met. She blessed us for 15 years. We’re thankful for every one of them.

Did Miami to Salem, VA on Christmas Eve a loooong time ago. 1981.

Think I remember it taking about 16 hours in my '73 Ford Pinto Wagon. Less than 1000 miles. I think.

Just used the company card and then submitted receipts for back up.

They reviewed charges on Credit Card statement and then checked the receipt if there was a question. ** Edited by SavannaHokie at 8/15/2022, 12:00:30 PM

Worst and Best in same concert.

Black Sabbath, November '78, Nashville. The show was canceled 'cause they couldn't find Ozzy. Well, he showed up the next morning. The band agrees to circle back around and does the concert a few days later on a Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. So, I go and it was just a boring playlist. Worst concert ever. However, the opening band was unbelievable. I had never heard of them before. From the first song to to last it was awesome. Rocked the house. I went out and bought their album the next day. Band was Van Halen.

Yeah... I knew it was $90. I elected to wait. Might put $500 + service

charge in it and then 2 days is history. We live in a really small house, 1100 sq ft. And the unit is limping along keeping main room at about 81 degrees. So I bought a cheap window unit and its taking the edge off pretty good. Also found a guy highly recommended - in the neighborhood - who said he'd come look at it. I said "My wife and I both have Covid." He said "I don't care. It is what it is."

The Lounge 3 y ago

Well, the good news was that the wifey & I had both avoided Covid until now

The bad news is we both have it (she worse than me) and the frickin' AC picked now to go out. And nobody wants to come to the house and fix it. Don't blame them. Pretty sure the coil has a leak. Been in the mid 90s here for a while... and high humidity.

He's looking good.

You should see my "Then & Now pic." Actually, no, you shouldn't.

Spent $1440 on Friday night.

Of course there were 13 of us.

And a company credit card.

Also pegged a borrowed Honda 500 @ 100 on Kessler Mill Road about 1975.

That was one of the dumbest things I've ever done in my life.

Edit - just remembered it was winter. January I think. Froze my ass off riding that thing too. But those were the days, huh!

Got my '74 Pinto wagon up to 95 going downhill on I-77 one night in 1978

Coming back from Bluefield WVA. I think the name of the bar was The Briar??? Scared the crap out of my roommate when he woke up to me screaming as I came up on a Semi being towed backwards. I think we were coming down Big Walker Mountain. It's all blur now. As it probably was then too.
