Wrong…

Miami is a very good team but our defense was poor. Miami could drive to the basket whenever they wanted. Our guys played hard but we have little, if any, top half of the ACC talent. We need athletes.

Is that the best you’ve got….

I asked what you would say after the Cuse beat us and this is it? We don’t have the talent to play in the top half of the ACC. I love what Maddox accomplished last year but on an above average team he is the 6th or 7th guy off the bench and MJ plays 2 - 5 minutes. Maddox’s form is horrible.

Buddy Bennett was a defensive back coach at VT...

somewhere in the 1974 - 1979 time frame. I considered walking on at VT as a defensive back in 1975 and had a long talk with Billy Hardee (a star DB for Virginia Tech) Billy told me practices with Coach Bennett were brutal and that he used walkons as "tackling dummies." I decided I better just be a regular old student!

It is not what you think! The kid is playing too many minutes out of necessity (and I think he is clearly our MVP so far this season). I hope he plays no more than 30 minutes the next 2 - 3 games. He will need fresh legs once the ACC season begins in earnest. My .02 cents.

Despite our gang of excellent shooters, if we don't get to the free throw lane we could be in trouble in bad shooting games...and every team has several games where they cannot hit the broad side of a barn.
