Posting History (58)

3 lackluster games offensively finally 1 good inning

Hopefully there will be some carryover to tomorrow! To win series team will need a couple of key bats to wake up

Kind of looked that way today

Hopefully get a chance to change the narrative tomorrow.

At least a nice photo of the Hokies appeared

On front page of Dallas morning news sports section this morning. Don’t get to see that often!

Rutgers, Duke and Vandy, - no wins, Oh My!

Coach Pry seems like a really great guy. It isn't a lie that my hopes were real high that he'd soon have the Hokies ready to vie for titles and a ranking high as the sky. Alas, even with one of the highest paid quarterbacks money can buy, I'm no longer sure we could play Wake Forest to a 0-0 tie. Now with a smile wry, I have to admit Pry isn't the guy, and it might be time to say bye-bye. If nothing is done the program may dry up and die. It's no time to cry, but I do hope the day will come when our Hokies will once again fly high!

At end of the day regardless of reason, that loss was the last thing in the

body of work. A loss like that gives the committee a reason not to choose you. Hang on to win that one and enjoy the super regionals.

My view is we have turned a corner under this staff.

When Coach took over this team was nearly unwatchable. Much of the time, They didn’t look like they belonged on the same field with teams like Duke. Now program is back to the point where the team looks pretty solid and fans are expecting to win week in and week out. The eye test says play and talent on the field is vastly improved. Ride it out a couple more seasons and I believe we’ll be fully back. We are the team with 2nd most wins without a national championship - thank goodness for WVU! Now that players are paid, That streak may not end anytime soon regardless. Go Hokies!

Stop the steal

Hokiepro is wrong it is not just like Danny coale. There was 0:00 on the clock this time. If someone brings it to a courtroom and they can’t show β€˜indisputable evidence’ the judge would have to change the result to the correct outcome. Suit could be brought by anyone who was harmed by this egregious result - maybe a rabid fan like hokiepro who lost a $1 bet will take up the challenge.

I think her leaving is completely understandable. When you play for a

coach that long, are happy - know his system and style it is comfortable situation. Either going to UK or going pro rather than starting with a new college coach for one year makes more sense. She made a lot of great memories for Hokie fans, but without Liz, her presence and impact on the future results is not as devastating as some think. We may find we have a taller and better player on the floor when next season rolls around ...

did not stay at JMU as alum, no reason to think he'd stay or be loyal to VT

Personally I didn't like the coach & team lying about the knee injury in the name of protecting the seeding. You don't 'rehab' a torn ACL. Would have much rather seen them stand up and tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may rather than copying Notre Dame's policy of dishonesty. Would like to see higher moral standards out of my school. I don't see he had much choice about jumping on the coaching carousel when he did. He was ready and eager to move on and the timing is what it is. Hopefully the program can maintain some of gains it has made and not reset all the way back to square one.

We had a confident team, not just wo players. A star player was injured;

the confidence crumbled. Fortunate to beat Miami. The game today resembled a middle school girls team - air balls, firing the ball into bottom of the rim, missing layups, flopping on the floor - it was just ugly and zero confidence at all. Looked like many of them forgot basketball fundamentals. It won't be easy to recapture momentum and come back just by practicing. Had hopes of a magical run but without Liz this season is toast.

The decision appears wrong and unfair but the GA versus FSU bowl game going

to tell the rest of the story. If FSU gets smoked it'll appear the decision was correct. If FSU beats GA, then the committee will be exposed, although it'll be too late to do anything about it.

Venue is too small for final four this year. High demand event ...

Men's final four tickets in Houston are way cheaper - even Taylor Swift's concert across town at same time is lower price on resale market ....

During football season kept seeing posts saying we're a basketball school

now. I had assumed it was men's basketball, but who knows, maybe they meant women's. After a nice non-conference run, it is starting to look like a lost season.

Easily could or should've been 6 wins or more; good teams find a way to win

Bad teams find a way to lose. Aura surrounding this team brings back memory of attending games in late 80s / early 90s. Regardless of opponent or momentum, no lead was ever big enough to feel the game was won. It isn't easy to lose a game where you get both a defensive and special teams touchdown .... hopefully program will rise up again before fanbase becomes as apathetic as it once was.
