Well, ok....
We all have to learn lessons the hard way at times.....
But, hey, I remember myself crying like that in New Orleans at the MNC game.
And I wasn't even 50 yet.....

Sorry if repeat....
or if I'm wrong....
But was the opener the first game where, on the scoreboards on the north and south ends, player/team statistics for each team were not constantly displayed?
It appears that now, on one end, they alternate team/player stats for both teams on one end of the scoreboard and the other end (which used to be opposing team) is now used for ads.

Well, they called...
it on the field as a TD. So, without indisputable evidence, they couldn't overturn it.
Anyway, that's the BIG12. Other conferences may have different rules?

caught the pass near the goal line. He extended his arms/hands (and the ball) over the goal line. The ball popped out after his hands hit the ground in the endzone.
The announcer said: "He had full possession of the ball and extended it over the goal line. The play is over after that. That is a touchdown.
Is that the rule on that?
Seems kinda different from another game I saw.

Honestly, I wasn't taking a "shot." I was just saying that, to me, the cadence/phrasing Coach Pry speaks with sounds remarkably similar to W.

Politics aside....
I still look up at the TV every time Pry is interviewed because I think George W. Bush might be making a comeback.
They really sound alike.

Yep....
I was there also.
After that 17- 13 loss VT went on to lose four more in a row. Lost the first 5 games by a total of 19 points.
Opened with 5 straight losses in 1970 and Claiborne was gone (mistake IMHO). He did well at Maryland and Kentucky and made the College Football Hall of Fame.

Well, I guess I used that "worm turned" out of context. I thought it just meant "a sudden change" in any direction or fortune.

In the last 50 years...
how many MBB coaches did their entire VT tenure in one conference (besides Buzz and James Johnson)?
Do you think always being in a stable (and elite) conference may have made a difference (recruiting and otherwise)?

The referees didn't appear to call the game equitably.

I have WBB Season Tickets and a Lot 1 Parking Pass. But I live close to the gym and like the walk.
Parking Pass says WBB @ 5:00. But I don't know how they'll manage the Lot (MBB @ 8:00). I buy MBB Season Tickets with my neighbor so don't have a MBB parking pass (IF they're different?).

All true....
but, personally, I would like rules implemented that would require the contestants to chew with their mouths CLOSED during the pizza and turkey leg eating contests during timeouts. Also: I do not care much for the "reverse eating" videos.
For Goodness sake! These people are going to have to get jobs someday!
Everything any of us do is on video somewhere.

Just my opinion.....
(I'm a "Casual Fan") but: after VT came back in the second quarter and went up 10+ I was absolutely sure Hokies would win.
It appeared very much like VT did against MANY other very good teams (Tenn, Ohio State, etc). Assess, establish, put it in gear and never look back. VT won 15 in a row....and not by squeaking by.
So, in order to live with it, I'm just going to accept it:
It was fate.
The shots just didn't fall.
The 3s just didn't drain (like they did those other games).
I went to every home game starting with Notre Dame.
It was a truly great year.
Blacksburg in the winter isn't easy and needs that kind of thing....
