And four for 12 on third downs
The offense is not good enough

Iβm not entirely clear
The data is from a few Google searches.
However, I suspect the 1970 number at PSU includes the satellite campuses. Considering enrollment and living alumni overtime has been pretty consistent of being three times what Virginia Tech produces.
When I was considering Penn State around 35 years ago, I recall some programs would not allow you to go to university Park until your final two years.

With the numbers shown below, itβs almost certainly including
The satellite campuses in the total enrollment.

When reviewing the enrollment historical records
It appears Penn State has always been 3 to 4 times the size of tech.
Tech really didnβt fulfill its mission of being a large land grant university until the 60s or 70s when significant growth occurred.
In 1970 it appears VTs enrollment was about 11,000 and Penn State was 35,000.

When compared to Penn State or many Big Ten schools
We are handicapped by both the living alumni numbers and the conference payout.
Itβs discouraging to see the portal commitments and where they are coming from. Iβm not sure how VT can compete moving forward. However, with the right administration and coaching staff, I suppose it could happen. However, weβve only had one 10 win season since 2011. The program was already starting to decline during Beamerβs final four years.

Penn State has numerous satellite campuses across the state
Which are included in those numbers.
However, the point is about money and donations and thereβs no way Virginia Tech compete with Penn State, we just donβt have the number of living alumni to compete.

There needs to be a collective bargaining agreement
To protect the schools, the coaches and the players interests.

Iβm not worried at all about this Belichick hiring
Early in his career, he had LawrenceTaylor and as head coach. He had Tom Brady without those two what has he done?

If pry was a decent game day coach
We would have eight or nine wins already. Coaching cost us the Syracuse, Miami and Vanderbilt games. Only counting the past two years heβs still a 0.500 coach. If youβre looking for 6-6 Seasons; Pry Is your guy.

Nothing else matters if you canβt win in this business
Pry is not a very good head coach. End of story.
Game management and situational awareness are not skills he possesses.
I could care less if pry or any coach fits this ridiculous perceived VT culture nonsense.
This is big business and as the big tuna (that is Bill Parcells for you young guys) said you are with your record reflects.

Most of that was probation related
We simply didnβt have the depth and ran out of gas in the fourth-quarter due to the loss of scholarships

The Kansas Orange bowl loss was the worstβ¦. And the peach bowl
Loss to Georgia stings too. Boise State Temple, and many others.
And that Marcus, Vick, Miami game meltdown.

Over a five-year period I expect the following wins
10, 9, 8, 8 and 7. Is that too much to expect given the resources that are demanded And provided by the donors?
The talent is there the coaching is not delivering.

What culture?? We have one 10 win season since 2011.
We didnβt win our first bowl game until 1986. Other than the Beamer years What sustained? success has VT football ever had?
Our biggest Problem moving forward is our athletic Director does not know football. Babcock is a baseball and basketball person.
We need a separate athletic Director to run the football operations.
We certainly couldβve hired the former JMU football coach.

If Pry doesnβt work out Whit needs to go to
There is no way he should be allowed to pick a third football coachβ¦. And I say that in the nicest possible way acknowledging that I went to high school with Whit.

Tyrod was the last big-time QB he landed in 2006
And that was the downfall we didnβt get Manuel, Boyd, or many others. Beamer went almost a decade at the end of his career without getting another big-time QB recruit.

As itβs been said many times before
Beamer was a pink unicorn in the world of college football. That run from 93 to 2011 was truly special. Sure, there were some bad losses during that time, but it was mostly good times.
