Pry, as Beamer, will continue his loyalty to the coaches that grew with him through his coaching career. He will not replace them until they prove inadequate to him. Let us hope our assistants will grow into better coaches soon, or that Pry can find better replacements.

Crazy to me we couldn’t add one or two more guys to the depth chart at O Line.

Chaplin is the key guy on the O-Line. Huge problem if he can’t protect. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Clements end up at LT.

I hope Whit Babcock has spent the off-season working with Jimmy Sexton on a hot OC for next year - he is going to need someone that can script an 21st century offense next year. VT is not Ohio State (or Wisconsin for that matter). To be successful the Hokies are going to need some trickeration and ingenuity. I understand the desire for ball-control and risk-avoidance (otherwise known as “expected outcomes”, but that is not going be a recipe for attracting skilled recruits on offense or winning 10 games/year moving forward.

Our O-Line troubles are going to cause big problems again.Pry better have a plan either thru player development or the portal to get some talent in that room.If we can go 6&6 that would be quite an accomplishment after a 3&8 debacle..But until I see it an 11 pick sounds about right..

The RS FR OL are very very promising Especially Garrett, Chaplin, Meadows and Dickson

I am very surprised there isn't more discussion about the Special Teams. They cost us at least two games last year and could be more than that, but I haven't done the research.

I think Andy was referring to Bowen taking on the QBs directly this year. You are correct in that he certainly had overall control of the offense last year.

Some of the guys we hope can be starters on the OL couldn't start last year on a historically terrible OL. It's impossible to run the ball or play well at QB without an OL. Maaaaaaan, I hope it goes decent, but with our OC and the obvious deficiencies on the OL, I think 11th is about right.

Chaplin and B. Moore would've played more but we're preserving redshirts. As Hokiepro notes, several other promising OL were redshirting.

Based on schedule alone, VT should be able to outperform the 11th prediction. They get everyone in the bottom half of the conference, with the exception of GT, and only play 3 of the top 7.

Here I thought Bowen had full control of the offense last year.
