There's a nice YouTube clip on Tuten. His competition might not have been P5, but Tech had no back break runs like him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGKb-XEx-CI

He seems to have really good vision like Herbert, and his speed is decent. Between him and Thomas, this should be a more exciting offense to watch. Not sure how competent but, I remain optimistic.

Thanks Andy. The intangibles answer you have was spot-on IMO. It just did not seem like Pry and Bowen had a clue last season about what the heck was going on on the field. And I mean REALLY basic stuff like what you mentioned. I believe these are things that CAN be learned. I know all of us fans want Pry to succeed but man that intangible "feel" of "we got this" has GOT to be better. He's got that feeling OFF the field. Now he has to get it on the field.

Is there any thought about Gunner Givens at D-End? Is he just sized out of that or doesn't have the burst?

      Not quick enough.

Great article, thanks! The sign that should be up for right guard is “Help Wanted”.

What concerns me most is the lack of depth at key positions. Much like the MBB team this season, a couple of long-term injuries at key positions is going to cause a cascade effect that impacts the ability of the team to achieve this mythical “flow” that everyone seeks. It will look like last year pretty fast with any significant issues on the the O or D line. I hope this doesn’t happen and the Hokies win 6-8 games, but it would not surprise me if VT is back to “year 1” again next season.

The entire team is still very very young. Young players don't provide as much quality of depth as we like, but this is the hand the coaches have been dealt. Maybe 20% of our spring roster were Jr's or Sr's and 80% were underclassmen. Keep developing, recruit better and the results will show. I'm not as optimistic about this year because of the youth (though I can see a winning season) but come '24 '25 we should be in a much better position to challenge for things much higher.

Right guard sign, "Negotiable. Inquire within."

The right guard spot does not say "Open for Business"; it says "Help Wanted, Urgently Hiring".
