Riverbend (Fredericksburg, VA) defensive end/outside linebacker TyJuan Garbutt has quickly become one of the most highly recruited juniors in the state. Beginning in June with Pittsburgh, the 6’3”, 220-pound prospect has received 14 scholarship offers in three months. Michigan State, NC State, Penn State, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest are among the other schools that have offered.
Garbutt says he has visited “most” of the schools that offered. His most recent trip was to Blacksburg to watch Virginia Tech’s regular season opener against Ohio State.
