Bath County High School's (VA) John Phillips , who is one of the top tight end prospects in the state of Virginia, verbally committed to Virginia today. The 6-6, 240 pound prospect chose the 'Hoos over an offer from Virginia Tech and heavy interest from UNC.
"I've been thinking about this for a long time," Phillips said. "UVa has shown the most interest in me. They were the first to offer. I really like the coaching staff, and when I went up to practice today they answered all of the questions I had. The school is great, and it's close to my brother [Jacob, who will attend William & Mary] and my family. Everything just felt right about UVa, so I went ahead and committed."
