How does David survive being a volunteer assistant coach?
Does he work a local job out in town, then coach in his spare time? Does he get free tuition for grad school?

They are generally funded through the schools RTC.

Yes DMF will be making close to 6 figures as the “volunteer” coach…. lol

At VT, usually yes and no
I have had a former VT Swimmer and former VT Diver work for me in the past, while they still volunteered with the team. They received no tuition benefits. Cornell being partially a private school, may be able to offer more tuition benefits, but I am not sure if that violates the NCAA definition of "volunteer."

Can they get funded through their RTC?
