Will we see true freshmen Hipo or Sasso? 125 #4 Nico Provo, a soph who qualified for NCAAs last season as a freshman and was 20-11 overall. Beat Matt Ramos at Cliff Keen and made a big jump in the rankings. 0-3 133 #16 Tyler Knox, a true Fr who was a highly ranked recruit out of high school. This will be another challenge for Sam, but assuming he's healthy should win. 3-3 141 #28 Jason Miranda, a Sr who was 15-12 last season and did not qualify for NCAAs. Not sure who we'll see on the mat for VT, so slightly favoring the Cardinal veteran. 3-6 149 #13 Jadan Abas, a rSr who was AA as a rFr and is a three-time NCAA qualifier who finished 23-7 last season. Of course one of our hammers is here, and there aren't many people under 150 lbs I would pick over Caleb. 6-6 157 #8 Daniel Cardenas, a Soph who qualified for NCAAs last season and was Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year. Fortunately, we have another hammer here in Bryce Andonian. 9-6 165 #17 Hunter Garvin, 10-7 last season as a true Fr. The big question: will we see Hipolito or Brady? Could be interesting, but I'll give the edge to Garvin. 9-9 174 #22 Lorenzo Norman, a true Fr from Blair Academy in NJ who Beat Shane Griffith at Cliff Keen, mainly due to a 2nd period ride-out. Assuming Mekhi is healthy, 12-9. 184 NR Jack Darrah, a soph who won a gold medal at the U20 Pan American Championships and won Fargo in high school .... in Greco. Sam Fisher should be able to handle him. 15-9 197 #14 Nick Stemmet, a Sr and two-time NCAA qualifier. With Andy, Stemmet is favored. Sasso could make it interesting. 15-12 HWT NR Peter Ming, a Sr and two-time Pac-12 honor roll .... in academics. 18-12
