They had the high end talent
See Retherford, Nolf, Nickal, Megaludis. But they didn't have the depth they do today, and had legitimate holes in their lineup. They have title contenders at every weight now, and the next round of recruits is even better with Blaze, Duke and Ono coming in. I totally respect the opinion that wrestling the best is good for the team, but I just don't have a huge interest in seeing it here as a fan. The few guys that benefit can be similarly challenged at CKLV and national duals, without the team beatdown.
