Not going to argue with your experience, far outweighs mine for sure. Solely my opinion based on observation, however top guys aren't "due a bad loss" - they go out and win despite the odds. Starocci has never lost in college and will probably be the only 5-time national champion, I wouldn't equate that to being complacent. Messenbrink goes out to destroy everyone, not maybe sort of get a close win. Bassett, some call the best HS'er of all time, goes out to destroy everyone. At college mindset is the big variable and is what separates champions from close enough. Duels as a team result don't matter, that's not what i'm arguing. Individual matches matter and Tech seems to have multiple head scratchers every year. At the end of the day we all love the Hokies and want them to be the best. I would love to see a national championship in my lifetime and wrestling has the best shot. However, if people are okay with 3 AA's and top 10's then so be it. It would be really amazing to see them get over the hill one day though.
