With the portal opening tomorrow, and only lasting 30 days, do we think

that any of our guys will enter? Heard any rumblings? Also, do we think we get anyone? Depending on where the coaches heads are we could probably use an injection at 174/84

Gotta shoot to win.

The seeding committee really ****ed it - AS should be in the finals.

Blaze hasn't been dominated like that even by Davino ** Edited by PalmHokie at 3/21/2026, 1:00:28 PM

Becuase one case doesn't make a trend.

EV is hella frustrating. However, we have had two #1 HWT recruits who have done nothing, no improvement, maybe even regression. Heavies have done nothing on the national stage for 5+ years. Sasso pooped the bed this tourney too. Who was the last heavy AA? Bolen covid year? Khi at 174? The body of work for Haught isn't there for me.

Haught Post - Genuine discussion ask

For the past three or so years we lament the heavies performance - we have had top guys like Mullen and Catka do nothing. Sasso for whatever reason completely miss this weekend, etc. It doesn't feel like the heavies are improving or wrestling to their potential. There are a million variables, but one constant is Haught. The team had an amazing ACC tourney, which had us all singing his praises, but on the big stage the heavies laid an egg. If we think over the body of work, is it up to par? We aren't in the room, but is it time to move on? Why or why not? If so, who is realistic to get and why would they improve the room? Does Robie make that tough call? All that being said, Haught is an amazing Hokie and regardless of results, having amazing humans around is a net benefit.

Coaches have a tough lineup to build next year!

Do you shirt Gaj or bump him up if Henson stays 49? Good problems!

Mullen is a JAG. Hasn't improved in 2 years nor beaten a top 10 guy.

Im trying not to be such a negative nelly, but I don't see it with Mullen. Until he commits to improving his strength, conditioning, and game plans he isn't going to do much on the national stage with his time at VT.

Gaj tooooo - dude that beat him is in the semi's

and valencia is giving Joy a run for his money. No use in playing what ifs, but what-if.....

100% - I think we got expectations inflated due to ACC's

I think the ACC as whole is down this year - B10 is a different beast in wrestling and we are seeing that in real time.

For Mullen it depends on what Carrol shows up!

Dude can beat anyone if he is on ** Edited by PalmHokie at 3/20/2026, 9:13:30 AM
