It was tough for a lot of reasons. And I genuinely think this was his season to prove to other schools what he's capable of. Because I don't think AS hands the reins back over to DC when he comes back. He's too freaking good. I've also heard that AS has been having the upper hand in practice with DC more often than not. All's that to say that I absolutely hate this for DC. This was his year to audition for teams because top 15 guys are going to start being backups to the people we have in the lineup. DC is one hell of a wrestler. He's paid his dues. He's grown into a great college wrestler. I could see him being a 4 time All-American. I just don't see it happening here. I don't see him moving up to 141, though I suppose he could try, but DG and TC are going to have something to say about that. And it doesn't get easier higher up the lineup and I don't see how he could make 125. I hope I'm wrong though and we figure out a way to get all these guys into the lineup. Because holy moly, we're going to be a *tough* team to beat in '27. I don't see us beating Penn State - that's just not realistic. But finishing 2nd in the country would be a wild accomplishment, considering the current climate of college wrestling.
