ACC tournament scoring can be very flawed due to # of teams. Stanford helps

Good example was NC State’s Robinson getting 2 bonus points and advancement because Stanford didn’t have a 125 lb wrestler. Meanwhile, Eddie had a bye yet wouldn’t have gotten an advancement point without winning in the semis. Previously a 3 seed was often much better for team scoring than the 2 since the 3 had a great opportunity for bonus against a (typically) lousy wrestler, and then had the chance to take out the 2 seed. In that scenario, the 2 seed didn’t earn any championship bracket points at all and the 3 would have gotten 2 advancement + likely bonus. With the addition of Stanford, the 2 seed faces the lowest seeded wrestler and gets the bonus point opportunity. And while the 1 still gets a bye, the chances of winning a 1/4 matchup and getting the 2 championship advancement points are usually going to be much better than the 2/3 matchup.
