Compared to most other boards and sports, the wrestling community is pretty tight knit and given the individual nature of the sport, it IS a little more personal. You’ve got parents, fans, coaches, (and probably some of the wrestlers) viewing and chiming in. On a somewhat related note, my HS coaches one year put on the team shirt, “No place to hide”. So very true. You’ve got passionate fans who want our guys to succeed. Coaches that are largely, very successful and accessible to us VT wrestling fans. Combine all of that with one of “our” talented boys entering the portal looking to leave and it makes for some drama. Kind of like an awkward Thanksgiving meal but the conversation is open for all to see/read. With all of that said…Love you guys! Go Hokies!
