* Carleigh has made huge improvements in layups. Not saying she did not miss some, but she was watching the ball to the basket and was intentional. A BIG change from last year when she would get the contact and just fling the ball up, hoping it would go in. I think by the the time ACC play starts she will be a force. * When Kayl Petersen is in the game, good things happen. Maybe not the most athletic, but incredible game IQ * Suffren is the fastest human I have ever seen on a basketball court. She can be coached on shooting, passing, etc. but that speed is a gift from God. * Our freshmen are gonna be good. I think very good. I expect big improvements this year, but man next year - watch out. * We picked up some damn good portal talent. * I believe we had 4 people play PG at some time in the game (Wenzel, Mackie, Wells, Suffren). Each was capable and confident. Amazing. * I have this feeling Kate Sears would have filled that hole of a shooting guard. Again, I am impressed at how the coaches picked just the right people for the team. We will miss Kate and I can't wait to see her next year. * Carys did not get much action, but I felt like when she went in the other team keyed on her, opening things up for other Hokies to score. She also looked smooth and experienced. I think she is going to have a good year. * With our depth and speed we are gonna run the legs off many teams. * I was worried about our lack of height, but Daley and Freelon are real athletes making up for size. Baker and Petersen are smart and versatile. The freshmen - Trent and Jenkins - are going to get better fast I think. Jury is out, but I think we will hold our own again many of the bigger teams. Maybe not top in the US bigs like Betts or Beers or Strack, but still we will hang in there. Big step up from last year IMHO.
