extra 1 million per year to keep Brooks.... and we couldn't make it work... So now, Tech need to get another good coach with experience, paying a higher amount(than we were currently paying Brooks) for an untested candidate.... meanwhile, Tech looses out on like three years of exposure and money coming into the program because of rebuilding... that is assuming the next hire even works out. so, just in terms of money, the increased salary would likely pale in comparison to the loss of exposure, TV revenue, ticket sales, marketing for VT itself.... So, it might take even MORE money for VT now during the rebuilding phase, than if we just ponied up more... However, this is only based on compensation, but it is a good thought experiment.
